In Lienz where AdventureAustria is based, walking and hiking are without doubt, the most popular pastimes in this region of the Austrian Alps.  When walking in Austria one is spoilt for choice for destinations.  Lienz and East Tyrol are a mecca for walkers and hikers with tracks suitable for all fitness and ability levels. The Lienzer Dolomite Mountains, the Grossglockner and the Hohe Tauern National Park to name just a few, attract thousands of walkers each year. All paths are clearly marked and we can help suggest self-guided tours and itineraries suitable for you and your group.  If you are considering a holiday walking in Austria, then East Tyrol will not disappoint.

Walking in Austria.  Most walking and hiking activities are available only during the summer months and best between May and September. For those that are just looking for gentle and casual walks, we can suggest a number of short, local routes. Most routes can take in local sights with spectacular scenery.  All walking paths are marked. Walks are available from 20 minutes to several hours!  

Prices for walking are obviously free unless you take a guide.  You will need some money for chairlifts, eating and drinking etc. For more detailed prices please contact us or use our enquiry form.
