The mountain streams and rivers make their way through rocks and narrow valleys, offering many kilometres of excellent fishing areas. In addition to the Lienz Valley, the regions of Villgratental, Defereggental, Matrei and Kals in the National Park Hohe Tauern are also notorious hotspots for anglers.
