Are you thinking of taking your next holiday in Austria? Well, whether you plan to visit in the Winter, and make the most of East Tyrol’s excellent skiing, or the Summer, and go hiking, you’ll be pleased to learn that it’ll now cost you a little bit less. Why? Well, because there’s now a very favourable exchange rate!
To be specific, the pound sterling just hit 1.4256 versus the euro, its strongest in more than 7 years, or since November 7th 2007. What this means if you’re looking forward to having an adventure in Austria is that, when you exchange currencies, you’ll now get more euros. For example:
• £1,250 x 1.4256 (this record exchange rate) = €1,782.
• £1,250 x 1.1371 (the exchange rate 2 years ago) = €1421.
Hence, if you exchange £1,250 to spend a fortnight in Austria, you’ll now get +€360 more than if you’d done so 2 years ago!
So, what this means for you is that, whatever you’ve got in mind to do in Austria, it’s now far better value! If you intend to visit South Tyrol with the family for instance, you could go cycling through Lienz, taking in the spectacular views and clean air. Or, if you prefer to do some adventure activities, you could go canyoning or white water rafting, all with more euros in your pocket!
In brief then, it’s now a great time to visit Austria, thanks to this beneficial exchange rate!
