Lienz

charming small town, flanked by wooded ridges and the bizarre summit formations of the Lienz Dolomites. A place of high quality of life, where “the South begins”. An urban and yet close-to-nature paradise where the sun frequently shines. All in all, simply a small town called Lienz, home of around 12,000 citizens.

Holiday region Lienzer Dolomiten

In the holiday region Lienz Dolomites you stand on historical ground, as already the Romans settled in this region. Later on, the counts of Gorizia resided at Bruck Castle and built a fortified city wall, which is still partly preserved. But they also brought the Italian way of life and the southern flair to Lienz. Today, the city has about 12,000 inhabitants.

The small town at the foot of the Lienz Dolomites has its own charm. Historic buildings, small alleyways with colorful facades, and attractively designed squares provide the setting for numerous sports and cultural events with international participants and audiences.
