Wouldn’t it be nice to go on a world tour? One where you could experience the beautiful structures and landmarks from around the world?  How does one decide between so many countries, between winter and summer? If you belong to the group that finds it hard to decide and would like to visit the whole of the world in one day, then yes dear guest, Carinthia and a visit to Minimundus would be right for you!

Also if you can’t decide between swimming and skiing, in Carinthia you simply get both! Go glacier skiing during the morning and in the afternoon get your swimming trunks out to go swimming in one of Carinthia’s crystal clear lakes!

There are many other great reasons to visit Carinthia whatever time of year it is. The guide below should help you plan your perfect stay in Austria’s Riviera.

Lakes and Mountains

Carinthia (Kärnten in German) is the state with the most lakes and mountains in Austria. Together with neighbouring Italy and Slovenia, it is known as the ‘Three Countries Corner.’ Due to the different terrain, there is a division into ‘Upper Carinthia’ and ‘Lower Carinthia.’ Carinthia’s capital city Klagenfurt is located in the south between the Central Austrian Alps and the Karawanken Mountains.

To the west is the ‘Wörthersee’ lake. This lake along with numerous others is the centre of summer tourism in Carinthia. The state of Carinthia has many wonderful valleys traversing it and as the southernmost region of Austria, it enjoys a temperature and climate similar to that of Central Europe.
