AdventureAustria is based in Lienz, the capital town of East Tyrol. The Dolomite town of Lienz has two excellent ski resorts (Zettersfeld and Hochstein) which are both located very close to the main town centre.
Another resort nearby is the Alta Pusteria Dolomites Italy ski region which is located just over the Austrian/Italian border approximately 30 minutes’ drive south of Lienz.
The Alta Pusteria ski region consists of seven different small ski resorts surrounded by the imposing mountain scenery of the instantly recognisable Italian Dolomite Mountains.
One of the resorts is the Dolomiti di Sesto ski resort which is part of the huge Dolomiti Superski ski carousel with an incredible total of 450 lifts and 1,220 km of slopes, many of which come with a snow guarantee.
For visitors wanting a flavour of skiing in Italy we recommend starting at the Helm resort located just over the border.
