AdventureAustria is based in Lienz, the capital town of East Tyrol. The Dolomite town of Lienz has two excellent small ski resorts (Zettersfeld and Hochstein) which are both located very close to the main town centre.
Heiligenblut where the Heiligenblut Grossglockner ski resort is located (39km from Lienz), is an enchanting ‘picture postcard’ village set high in the Hohe Tauern National Park with the Grossglockner (Austria’s highest mountain 3,798m) as an impressive backdrop.
The 55km of pistes are well groomed and suitable for skiers and snowboarders with ability levels ranging from beginner to intermediate.
The ‘Glockner’ is a pristine natural environment with a history of sporting tradition. Here you will find short queuing periods and guaranteed snow which makes this resort unmissable for those wanting a mixture of winter sport, charm and pure nature.
Heiligenblut itself is a small and charming (and isolated) town but has a good selection of quality hotels and accommodation and lends itself well for families and couples.
