AdventureAustria is based in Lienz, the capital town of East Tyrol. The Dolomite town of Lienz has two excellent ski resorts both located very close to the main town centre. Zettersfeld ski resort and Hochstein ski resort are both covered by one ski pass with free ski bus services running between them.
The Hochstein ski resort is the smaller of the two resorts and is home to the Ladies World Cup Slalom and Giant Slalom skiing events which take place here every two years in December. Hochstein is steep and demanding and is the preferred choice for advanced skiers.
Lienz is a working functional town (12,000 inhabitants) rather than a purpose built ski resort so there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and things to do when you’re not on the slopes.
Visitors also have a large choice of accommodation in Lienz ranging from self-catering apartments right up to 5 star hotels.
