AdventureAustria is based in Lienz, the capital town of East Tyrol. The Dolomite town of Lienz has two excellent ski resorts (Zettersfeld and Hochstein) which are both located very close to the town centre.
Those looking for further East Tyrolean family friendly ski resorts, should consider the tiny Virgen Prägraten ski area located 30 minutes west of Lienz.
This very small area is perfect for young children just starting out, away from all the hustle and bustle of the larger ski areas. Children up to 5 years old also get to ski for free.
For adults accompanying their little ones, this area is also included in the ‘Ski Hit’ ski pass which covers 8 different ski regions in East Tyrol and Carinthia. Day passes can also be purchased for adults at €20.
