Ten top scenic drives in Austria through the Alps – start point in Lienz in East Tyrol. The list below is a selection of some of the best alpine scenic drives in the areas surrounding Lienz, where AdventureAustria are based.

Base yourself in the Dolomite town of Lienz. From there you can adventure out each day and experience some of the top scenic drives in Austria.

Enjoy magnificent mountain scenery taking in such sights as the Grossglockner, The Dolomite Mountains in Italy and the lakes in Carinthia.

Many high alpine passes are only open in summer and can close without warning due to bad weather.  Also be aware that there are some tolls to pay for tunnels and some high alpine passes.
